Shri Piyush Goyal Expounds India’s Economic Vision at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in Bahrain

The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal, highlighted India’s remarkable journey and aspirations during his address to the Bahrain Chapter of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He emphasized the nation’s ambitious target of adding 30 trillion US dollars to its economy within 30 years, driven by the energy and efforts of a population predominantly under the age of 30.

Shri Goyal stressed India’s appeal as a significant investment destination, citing the recent milestone of the country’s market capitalization reaching 4 trillion dollars. He underscored India’s confident engagement with the world, characterizing it as a confident and spirited economy, devoid of arrogance.

Highlighting India’s progress, the Minister showcased the nation’s infrastructure advancements, including the doubling of port capacity in a decade, significant expansion of commercial airports, the introduction of new inland waterways, and the development of a modern railway and highway network.

Encouraging the audience to witness India’s transformative changes firsthand, Shri Goyal invited them to visit landmarks like the new parliament house and Bharat Mandapam, showcasing high-quality international exhibitions. He portrayed India as a prosperous nation providing a high quality of life and emphasized its leading role in promoting 5G technologies aligned with growth, good governance, grit, genuine trust, and green technologies for sustainability.

Acknowledging the significant presence and contributions of Chartered Accountants in Bahrain, he praised their commitment to integrity, ethics, and hard work. He hailed them as India’s ambassadors worldwide and in Bahrain, expressing gratitude for their dedication, ideas, and contributions. He applauded their efforts in organizing discussions on contemporary topics such as leadership, sustainability, geopolitics, human potential, and healthy living, lauding their relevance and importance in the present context.
