Advancing Global Security: Insights from Key Addresses at Strategic Trade Control Conference

In a significant stride towards strengthening global security measures, the National Conference on Strategic Trade Control witnessed key addresses from distinguished diplomats and officials. Amb. José Javier De La Gasca, Chair of the 1540 Committee at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Amb. Flávio Soares Damico, Chair of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), and Hon’ble Commerce Secretary, Shri Sunil Barthwal, delivered insightful keynote addresses at Vigyan Bhawan.

The conference, held at Vigyan Bhawan, also saw the release of a comprehensive handbook on India’s Strategic Trade Controls, meticulously prepared by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), India. This handbook is poised to become an essential reference point in understanding and navigating India’s strategic trade landscape.

Amb. José Javier De La Gasca emphasized the importance of international collaboration in ensuring effective strategic trade controls. His address delved into the global efforts led by the 1540 Committee to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and related materials.
