The President of India and the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces, Smt Droupadi Murmu, is set to bestow the President’s Colour upon the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, on Friday, 01 Dec 2023, marking its platinum jubilee year. AFMC stands as a premier establishment within the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) and ranks among the nation’s top medical colleges. This accolade serves as a testament to AFMC’s remarkable 75 years of dedicated service to the nation.
The prestigious ceremony will include the unveiling of a special cover, stamp, and a commemorative coin by the President. Additionally, the President will digitally inaugurate ‘Prajna,’ the Armed Forces Centre for Computational Medicine, positioning AFMC among global leaders engaged in advanced healthcare research utilizing Artificial Intelligence.
This grand event is scheduled to take place at the Capt. Devashish Sharma Kirti Chakra Parade Ground at AFMC. A notable highlight of the ceremonial parade will feature female medical officers leading four contingents of Armed Forces Medical Services personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, symbolizing women’s empowerment within AFMS.
