A grand celebration of Ayurveda is set to sweep across India as ‘Ayurveda for One Health’ takes center stage. The Ministry of Ayush has organized ‘Bikers Rallies’ in 11 cities, featuring a message that promotes Ayurveda’s timeless wisdom for holistic well-being. These rallies, scheduled for November 5, 2023, will bring together youth in a spirited campaign to mark ‘Ayurveda Day,’ celebrated on November 10.
Uniting the Youth
The heart of this campaign lies in the participation of India’s vibrant youth. Over 150 young bikers will rev their engines in New Delhi, with additional rallies happening in New Delhi, Lucknow, Nagpur, Chennai, Jaipur, Patiala, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Thiruvananthapuram, and Ahmedabad. The event is a joint effort between various organizations and local biking groups, creating a synergy of tradition and modernity.
The main rally in Delhi will be flagged off by Dr. Bharti, the director of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI). The nationwide rallies aim to bridge the generation gap and spread the global message of ‘Ayurveda for One Health.’ By doing so, they also aim to champion Ayurveda’s rich heritage and holistic approach to public health and well-being.
Empowering Ayurveda
This monumental campaign is driven by several prominent Ayurveda research institutions, including the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Delhi and Patiala, as well as National Ayurveda Research Institutes (RARI) in Lucknow, Nagpur, Jaipur, Vijayawada, Thiruvananthapuram, and Ahmedabad. Additionally, Dr. A. Lakshmipathy National Ayurveda Research Institute and Capt. Srinivas Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Chennai, and the National Institute of Medical Heritage (NIMH) in Hyderabad are collaborating with local biker groups to organize these rallies.
A Message of Health and Unity
Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, believes that connecting youth with the ‘Ayurveda for One Health’ campaign is essential for building a strong and healthy India. The core objective of Ayurveda Day is to spotlight India’s ancient Ayurvedic medical culture on the global stage and integrate Ayurveda into the daily lives of people worldwide. By participating in these bikers’ rallies, the youth will be motivated to embrace Ayurveda and other traditional Indian medicine systems.
The Road Ahead
Each city’s rally coordinators, along with local biker clubs, have organized the events meticulously. The Delhi rally will commence at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Punjabi Bagh, and wind its way through Motibagh to Jakira, before returning to CARI. What’s especially heartening is the inclusion of 20 specially-abled bikers who are joining the rally to express their dedication to Ayurveda and other traditional medical systems in India.
The climax of the Ayurveda Day festivities will be in Panchkula, Haryana, on November 9-10, 2023. Before this grand event, the rallies are being organized to convey a vital message to India’s youth: Ayurveda is indispensable for the health of children, teenagers, young adults, and the general public. The month-long celebrations in commemoration of the eighth Ayurveda Day are divided into three significant components — Ayurveda for students, Ayurveda for farmers, and Ayurveda for public health.
Conclusion
India’s youth is taking the wheel in a nationwide campaign to celebrate Ayurveda’s enduring wisdom. These Bikers Rallies, organized in 11 cities, represent the fusion of tradition and modernity, creating a movement for ‘Ayurveda for One Health.’ As India’s ancient heritage meets contemporary enthusiasm, the message of holistic well-being and unity is poised to resonate across the nation, setting the stage for Ayurveda Day and beyond.
