President Smt. Draupadi Murmu and Union Minister Arjun Munda Commend Agricultural Achievements
The 62nd Convocation of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in Pusa, New Delhi, was a momentous occasion marked by commendable hospitality and distinguished guests. His Excellency President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, alongside Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Tribal Affairs Mr. Arjun Munda, graced the event, highlighting the importance of agricultural research and education in India’s development.

As the Hon’ble Chief Guest, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu received the first copies of these publications, acknowledging the pivotal role of research institutions like ICAR-IARI in advancing agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods. President Murmu reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ income through various initiatives, including the Soft Health Card, PM Crop Insurance Scheme, Traditional Agricultural Development Scheme, and Farmers’ Property Scheme. These efforts reflect the government’s dedication to empowering farmers and ensuring their socio-economic well-being.
Looking towards the future, President Murmu envisioned a transformative journey for Indian agriculture, culminating in the “developed India Sankalp Yatra” by 2047.
