In a Republic Day celebration at Chhatrasal Stadium, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal outlined the tenets of his government, drawing inspiration from the principles of Ram Rajya. Emphasizing the ideals of Lord Ram, Kejriwal highlighted initiatives such as free ration, shelter for the homeless, and free services like electricity, water, education, health, and bus travel for women.
Addressing the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya on January 22, Kejriwal expressed pride, urging citizens to emulate Lord Ram’s inclusive values of non-discrimination based on caste and religion. Riding an open jeep, he inspected a parade featuring Delhi Police, Home Guard, Delhi Fire Service, National Cadets Corps, and students from Delhi government schools.
Kejriwal stressed his government’s commitment to a 10-point program inspired by Ram Rajya. Key principles include eradicating hunger through free rations, providing equal and quality education, ensuring health for all through improved healthcare facilities, and offering 24-hour power, access to drinking water, and respect for elders.
The CM asserted achievements like free electricity, water, and a paid pilgrimage scheme, illustrating progress toward these principles. Kejriwal also underscored the importance of economic equality in the nation’s growth, emphasizing the need to uplift the entire population.
However, Leader of the Opposition, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, criticized Kejriwal, alleging corruption and ineffectiveness. Despite the political debate, the Republic Day event showcased vibrant performances by students, celebrating the cultural diversity and unity of India.
