Mission AmritSarovar: A Nationwide Initiative for Water Conservation

Launched on April 24, 2022, the Mission AmritSarovar embarked on a crucial journey to construct and revive Amrit Sarovar ponds throughout India, with a target to complete the project by August 15, 2023. This monumental initiative aimed to revitalize and develop these sacred water sources, fostering a revival in water conservation practices across the nation.

The endeavor to preserve and sustain these Amrit Sarovars is of paramount importance. These water bodies not only hold cultural and historical significance but also play a vital role in replenishing groundwater reserves and supporting local ecosystems.

Amidst the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, over 65,000 Amrit Sarovars have been developed, signifying a significant step toward water resource conservation. However, the responsibility now lies in ensuring the continuous maintenance and upkeep of these invaluable sources of water.

As custodians of these rejuvenated Amrit Sarovars, let us unite in safeguarding and nurturing these water bodies, thereby contributing to the conservation and sustainable management of our water resources. Each effort towards the maintenance of these Amrit Sarovars signifies our commitment to environmental preservation and the inheritance of a greener, healthier planet for future generations.
