The National Arogya Fair, inaugurated at Thiruvananthapuram alongside the esteemed Global Ayurveda Festival, has become a symbol of Ayurveda’s global prominence, as per Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal. During the launch, he urged stakeholders in the Ayush sector to adopt innovation and collaboration for progress.
The festival, supported by CISSA – Centre for Innovation in Science & Social Action, runs from December 1st to 5th in Kerala, drawing researchers, dignitaries, and Ayurveda experts worldwide. Alongside Shri Sonowal, Shri. V. Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs, and Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ayush, inaugurated the National Arogya Fair and Arogya Expo. Stressing the importance of bridging ancient wisdom with modern advancements, Shri Sonowal encouraged active participation in this initiative.
Highlighting the Ayush sector’s potential, Shri Sonowal affirmed the government’s support for those interested in investing in the Ayush sector abroad, emphasizing entrepreneurship as a priority area. Shri V. Muraleedharan lauded India’s traditional medicine, specifically Ayurveda, in addressing contemporary health challenges, citing a recent NITI Aayog study.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary Ayush, applauded advancements in Ayurvedic education, citing enhanced standards and the pivotal role of the National Ayush Mission in public health evolution. He emphasized the Ministry of Ayush’s Research Council for leading scientific progress, conducting crucial clinical trials, and endorsing evidence-based practices. Kotecha also commended CCRAS for its collaborative studies, particularly in integrative models.
