Unveiling Splendor: Smt Droupadi Murmu Enriches Rashtrapati Nilayam with New Attractions

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, graced the occasion at Rashtrapati Nilayam with the inauguration of several captivating tourist attractions on December 21, 2023. These enhancements are set to elevate the visitor experience while celebrating historical milestones and cultural heritage.

Among the unveiled attractions, a significant highlight was the grand inauguration of a replica of a historic Flag Post. Towering at an impressive 120 feet and constructed from teak wood, this Flag Post carries deep historical significance, symbolizing the integration of Hyderabad state into the Indian Union back in 1948.

In an effort to enchant visitors of all ages, the landscape was enriched with the addition of a Maze Garden and a dedicated Children’s park. The Maze Garden boasts the stunning Murraya Exotica as its centerpiece, while the Children’s park promises to engage and delight the younger audience, ensuring a memorable visit for families.

Furthermore, the restoration of three ancient step wells and the incorporation of traditional irrigation systems are commendable initiatives. These endeavors not only serve as captivating attractions but also bear testimony to sustainable water management practices, reflecting the rich heritage and promoting environmental consciousness among visitors.

Adding to the spiritual ambiance of the premises, the installation of magnificent sculptures, including Dakshinamurthy Shiva seated beneath a banyan tree and the revered Nandi Bull perched upon a rock, are poised to captivate the imagination of all who visit.

The Knowledge Gallery has also been expanded with two new enclaves. These informative spaces delve into the unification of Hyderabad and offer insights into the illustrious history of Rashtrapati Bhavan and the esteemed line of Presidents who have served the nation.

Moreover, the Rock paintings adorning the exterior of the Knowledge Gallery portray facets of “Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat.” These vibrant depictions celebrate India’s scientific and defense achievements, cultural heritage, diverse monuments, and various art forms, encapsulating the country’s rich tapestry of culture and progress.

Rashtrapati Nilayam stands as a beacon of historical significance and cultural heritage, welcoming the public throughout the year, except during the President’s southern sojourn.
